A Company Rich with History
We are a family owned excavating company located in Schwenksville, PA, and have provided the South-Eastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area with professional and quality service since 1970. The business was originally started by R. Harvey Slater with the help of his wife, Barb. Harvey started with nothing but a $70 dump truck hauling trash off of job sites. Soon after, bought his first Case Backhoe jumping into the excavating field, and with this step he needed man power so he hired his brothers, Mel and Ed. Several years later Harvey's two sons, Rob and Tom, took an interest in the company. With the help of his two brothers, and now his sons Harvey was able to create the prosperous company he always dreamed of owning. After many years Harvey decided that it was time he started looking for his successor, and after a long thoughtful process he decided that his son Tom would be the right man for the job. Tom picked up where his father left off, and has been successful at continuing his father's legacy. Our company has built a strong reputation by maintaining the same standards of quality, safety and commitment to each of our clients that Harvey implemented from the beginning. Today, a third generation has joined our expanding company, and with them they bring innovative ideas and a wealth of knowledge. It will be interesting to see how Robert Slater Inc. continues to grow.
